An interesting story featured today in Spanish Sports daily “Marca” on REAL MADRID & their spending on new players since 2000. Real Madrid is the Club that most money has “invested” (spent) on new signings since the year 2000 in the whole World of Football. The below diagram illustrates this clearly with a massive 1.022M€ in 48 player signings:
Season 2009 – 2010 was a record spending period with 254M€ spent on Cristiano Ronaldo (96M€), Kaká (64M€), Benzema (35M€), Xabi Alonso (30M€), Albiol (15M€), Negredo (5M€), Granero (5M€) & Arbeloa (4M€). This new season the Spanish Club has already spent 53, 5M€ on Di Maria, Canales, Khedira & Pedro Leon, however more signings are tipped before the official start of the new Spanish League season.
